Richard T. Jones was born in Philadelphia and moved to Levittown, Pennsylvania, at the age of two. Although he has lived in several places over the years, Bucks County, Pennsylvania has always remained home.
He attended Archbishop Wood High School, Bucks County Community College, and Trenton State College, now known as The College of New Jersey.
Sports have always been an important part of his life. In earlier years he was active in ice hockey and racquetball, and today he enjoys bowling and pickleball.
He wrote We Were Not Here First out of a growing concern that too many people pay too little attention to the environment around them and to the impact human behavior has on nature.
His hope is to encourage readers to become more aware of the world they live in, to reflect more carefully on humanity’s relationship with nature, and to recognize the importance of living in greater balance with the environment.
